Located just an hour from Melbourne, Woodend is a thriving town in Victoria’s ‘Macedon Ranges and Spa Country’.  This region is well regarded for it’s mineral springs, rich local history and delicious locally grown food.

Spa Country Gravel Route

This route starts at Woodend and features a stop at Trentham as well as fun downhill return via Mount Macedon after you ride through forest, farmland and a beautiful rail trail. You have the option of completing this as a long ride or two smaller loops..

Click here to download the file from our Strava Club page.

For cyclists, there are amazing road, gravel and mountain bike riding options in the region and you can start in any of the other surrounding towns, Mount Macedon, Trentham and Daylesford for some great roads and trails.

We recommend

Stop at Red Beard Bakery for coffee and mid-ride snack/meal

Have a drink at Holgate Brewery in Woodend when you finish

Eat, stay and enjoy yourself at the Radio Springs Hotel as an alternative start/finish location

The route is best on a Gravel/Allroad/Cyclocross or hard tail MTB
